How to perform Lat pull down correctly?

 You may have experienced pull machine called Lat pull down.

The reason why it's called by its name, is because Lat is the short term of

Latissimus dorsi. 

 

Latissimus dorsi is one of the longest muscles that comes down from Thoracic

Vertebrae, all the way down around Sacrum.

This muscle has the function of internal rotation and adduction of your humerus bone

and also, extension.

 

So, what it means that when you pull the bar from top to bottom, 

you need to make your arms as a form of alphabet W.
Making your arms form of alphabet W, your lats are squeezed in and locked between 
your arms and butt so that means that your lats are concentrically contracted.

One more important thing to know is that you need to check your scapula and make sure it's depressed.

Scapula is located right above your lats and that means that when you elevate (raise) your scapula, your lats are also extended. Making your lats extended cannot concentrically contract your lats.

To perform the Lat pull down with the correct form, you need to pull the bar with depressing your scapula.
